About David Katz
David took his first chef position at a restaurant named
Lula in Philadelphia where "contemporary Mediterranean" was the
concept at age 28. "I learned a lot at that place. Taking over for a
failed chef in a doomed location actually has it's positives!" Not too
long after David accepted the chef reigns of M Restaurant at the historic
Morris House Hotel. There David found his groove and really started to make his
presence known in town with new American flavors that grabbed the attention of
all the food writers and bloggers in town. After a healthy run at M, it was
time for David to branch out a bit more and try his hand at opening his own
place. Meme opened in the teeth of the recession, September 29th 2008 at 22nd
and Spruce in the Fitler Square neighborhood. Meme is still there and so is
David turning out simple, rustic food in the little 900 square foot space. (Read More)
FoodTastic Experience Yakatori Boy Location : Philadelphia, PA
"Yakitori Boy is Philly's only yakitori place,
unfortunately. It's pretty modern inside—young vibe, typical beer selection—but
the crispy chicken skin on a skewer is amazing. Be sure to ask the server for
it well-done, or else it tends to not be crispy enough."
Yakatori Boy
We are proud to honor the Japanese tradition of taking time to have balance while making time to enjoy with family, friends, and the other important people in your life. Whatever the occasion Yakitori Boy hosts a variety of ambiances to be able to accommodate the experience you are looking for.
An Izakaya, simply put, is a Japanese version of a pub especially great for relaxing after a long day, with laughter and conversation over drinks. The Izakaya cuisine has evolved from it’s “street food” origin into what is becoming more widely known as Yakitori. Yakitori are skewers of meats, seafood and vegetables that are individually seasoned and skillfully cooked on our Yakitori grill so that you may enjoy them at the perfect temperature when brought to your table. In addition to the more traditional dishes such as Okonomuyaki, Takoyaki and Yakitori we have an extensive menu selection, sure to suit any palate, adventurous or not. (Read More)
